• ITINERARY OF EUROPEAN TOUR
Day 1 - London Sightseeing
Today we enjoy a half day sightseeing tour of London seeing all
the major sights. Now we are at leisure. (B)

Day 2 – London – Amsterdam
Today we meet our Tour Director, then to Dover for the ferry to
France. Across Belgium's Flanders Fields,
into Holland and to

Amsterdam. Here we visit Dam Square and see the Mint Tower
before visiting a diamond-polishing factory,
then we continue to our hotel. (B)

Day 3 – Amsterdam – Rhineland
We head for Germany and Cologne to see the Gothic cathedral
with its soaring spires. We drive along the Rhine
and join a cruise past castles perched above leafy vineyards.
Then rejoining our coach we continue to our hotel. (B,D
)

Day 4 – Rhineland – Lake Lucerne
First to Heidelberg to view the castle. Then we enjoy a scenic
drive through the Black Forest, passing by
the popular resort of Lake Titisee, before we head for
Switzerland and the Rhine Falls at Schaffhausen.
Finally we arrive at Lake Lucerne. (B,D)

Day 5 – Lucerne Sightseeing
View the Lion Monument and see the Chapel Bridge this
morning, then time at leisure to perhaps join an excursion to
ascend a spectacular Swiss Alp by cable car. How about a Swiss
Folklore Show tonight? (B)

Day 6 – Lake Lucerne – Innsbruck
We pause at Liechtenstein today, famous for its 700 year old
Vaduz Castle and colourful stamps. Now on to the Alpine Tyrol
and Innsbruck to see the 'Golden Roof'. (B,
D)

Day 7 – Innsbruck – Vienna
We drive along the Inn Valley to Salzburg, city of Mozart. Here
we see Mozart's birthplace and some of the sites where 'The
Sound of Music' was filmed. We continue through the scenery of
lakes and mountains of the Salzkammergut to Vienna. (B,D)

Day 8 – Vienna Sightseeing
Our guided tour of Imperial Vienna shows us the Winter Palace
and St. Charles' Church. Later we are at leisure. Perhaps visit
magnificent Schonbrunn Palace? (B)

Day 9 – Vienna – Veneto
Over the hair-pin bends of the Semmering Pass and through the
forests of Carinthia into Austria's lake district. Then across the
vast Venetian Plain to our hotel. (B,D)

Day 10 – Venice Sightseeing
We drive to the Venetian Lagoon where our private launch
takes us to St. Mark's Square. We see the Basilica, Bridge of
Sighs and Doges' Palace before a demonstration of Venetian
glass-blowing. This afternoon is at leisure. Perhaps enjoy a
gondola ride? (B)

Day 11 – Veneto – Rome
We climb into the Apennine Mountains today. The Etruscan hill
towns of Orte and Orvieto overlook the road to Rome, we follow
the Tiber river to the 'Eternal City'. (B)

Day 12 – Rome – Sightseeing
With our guide we visit the Vatican City to explore inside St.
Peter's Basilica. We then see the Roman Forum and mighty
Colosseum. Tonight, perhaps dine out Roman style? (B)

Day 13 – Rome – Overnight ferry
A chance to visit the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel
before crossing the spine of Italy, the rugged Appenine
Mountains, to Bari for our overnight ferry to Greece. (
B)

Day 14 – Patras – Athens
We dock at Patras and then stop at the Corinth Canal. Next we
continue to Athens.

Day 15 - Athens - Cruise Mykonos
We transfer to Piraeus to board our cruise ship and set sail for
the lively island of Mykonos, with its dazzling sugarcube houses
and white washed windmills. (B,D)

Day 16 - Cruise to Kusadasi & Patmos
This morning we dock at the Turkish port of Kusadasi, where
we can visit the bazaar or perhaps take an excursion to visit the
ancient ruins of Ephesus? We then sail to the island of Patmos
where St. John wrote the Book of Revelation. (B,L,D)

Day 17 - Cruise to  Heraklion & Rhodes
Early this morning we dock at Heraklion, site of the ruins of
King Minos' Palace of Knossos. Later we anchor Rhodes

Day 18 - Athens - Overnight Ferry
We disembark this morning and rejoin our tour. Time to
explore the fascinating markets of the Plaka before returning to
the port of Patras to take our overnight ferry back to Italy. (B

Day 19 – Brindisi – Bay of Naples
We cross the Italian peninsula to the Bay of Naples where we
stay tonight. (B,D)

Day 20 – Sorrento Excursion
This morning we take the clifftop road to the resort town of
Sorrento. Here there is an opportunity to join a optional
excursion to the Isle of Capri. (B,D)

Day 21 – Bay of Naples – Tuscany
We pass Monte Cassino on our journey north today. Soon we
reach the Chianti vineyards and the Renaissance city of
Florence. After a demonstration of Florentine leatherwork and
free time we continue to our Tuscan hotel. (B,D)

Day 22 – Tuscany – French Riviera
First stop today is the amazing Leaning Tower of Pisa in the
Field of Miracles. Later we follow the Italian and French riviera
coasts past Genoa, and visit the principality of Monaco before
continuing to our hotel. (B,D)

Day 23 – French Riviera
A day on the French Riviera. Swim or maybe visit a perfumery.
(B)

Day 24 – French Riviera – Barcelona
Our first stop this morning is the millionaires' resort of Cannes.
Then through Provence and the Camargue, famous for its wild
bulls and pink flamingos. We continue around the coast into
Spain and colourful Barcelona. (B,D)

Day 25 – Barcelona Sightseeing
Today we see all the sights of this dynamic city – Gaudi's
amazing Sagrada Familia cathedral, the Columbus Monument,
the lively Ramblas and the 1992 Olympic complex. Tonight,
why not experience some fiery Flamenco? (B)

Day 26 – Barcelona – Madrid
Leaving Catalonia, we cross the River Ebro and continue
through the Morata Pass. Reaching the Plains of Old Castille, we
soon arrive at the Spanish capital, Madrid. (B)

Day 27 – Madrid Sightseeing
Our guided tour starts with the most famous sights – Puerta del
Sol, Cibeles Fountain, the Gran Via and the Royal Palace of King
Juan Carlos. This afternoon the choice is yours to maybe visit the
Prado Museum or Toledo? (B)

Day 28 – Madrid – Lourdes
See the unspoilt heart of Spain, reaching the Pyrenees and the
pilgrimage centre of Lourdes in time to join the torchlight
procession – a moving experience! (B,D)

Day 29 – Lourdes – Bordeaux
Lourdes is a place of pilgrimage for thousands. Visit the
miraculous Grotto and drink the curative waters before driving
to Bordeaux for an orientation tour. (B,D)

Day 32 – Bordeaux – Paris
We drive to the Loire Valley to see Amboise Castle, where
Leonardo da Vinci is buried. Then a photo-stop at the Chateau of
Blois before a short drive to the capital, Paris. (B)

Day 31 – Paris Sightseeing
Our local guide shows us the Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe,
Place de la Concorde, Eiffel Tower and the cathedral of Notre
Dame. Perhaps tonight enjoy a spectacular cabaret or farewell
dinner in a Parisian restaurant? (B)

Day 32 –
Our tour ends this morning with our trip from Calais to Dover
by ferry across the Channel then bus trip back to Hotel in
London

The true beauty of Lake Lucerne is revealed as we cruise the tranquil waters and enjoy the
stunning scenery of snowcapped mountains, green pastures and dense forests
Mt Pilatus by Cog Rail and Cable Car.(7000ft)
Mountain excursion to Pilatus by cogwheel train (inclination up to 48 degrees) to reach the
summit of Pilatus at 7,000ft offering panoramic views of the city of Lucerne

INNSBRUCK - Day 7
The Tyrolean Horse & carriage ride through the scenic Alpen countryside
A typical mountain village and a horse drawn carriage ride which takes us through the
mountains and valley of the Tyrol. We stop in a quaint tavern for a drink of Schnapps before
returning to Innsbruck

SALZBURG -  Day 8
Guided tour of Obersalzburg & "KOLSTEIN" Hitler's Eagles Nest.
Drive deep into there National Park past farmhouses & picturesque village to the ruins of
Obersalzburg. From here transfer to special motor coaches adapted to the scenic mountain climb
to Hitler's notorious 'Eagles Nest'. There are splendid views through the arches up to the Hohen
Goll and across the snowcapped peaks.

VIENNA - Day 9
Elegant Countryside Mansion Restaurant dinner followed by Imperial Waltz Concert
Dinner in a Heurigen restaurant owned by the wine growers themselves. Also sample of local
vintages to the sound of the musicians who entertain us. Then to a Viennese Palace for a concert
of waltzes and champagne in the interval.
Guided Tour of Schonbrunn Palace & Treasury of he Habsburgs
A visit to Schonbrunn Palace and its beautiful gardens and then on to see the fabulous Imperial
Treasury of he Austrian and the Holy Roman Empir

VENICE - Day 10
Serenaded Gondola Ride,
A visit to Venice would be incomplete without a gondola serenade. We glide along the
atmospheric canals exploring the intimate and hidden parts of this unique city only accessible
by gondola.
St Marks, The 'Doges Palace' and Bridge of Sighs
Tour showing the glistening interior of the Basilica of San Marco with its extraordinary gold
mosaics. Then to the Doge's Palace Symbol of Venetian power with its State rooms and
spectacular paints. Then through to the Bridge of Sighs for a visit to the prison from which
Casanova escaped.

ROME - Day 12
Evening Walking Tour. Spanish Steps, Pantheon Piazza Navona
Start the evening with a 'passeggiata' (evening stroll) along the Via Conditto to the Spanish
Steps. This walking tour includes Piazza Navona with its pavement cafes, 17th century fountains
and architecture.
 
Guided tour inside the 'Coliseum',

' Catacombs' of the ancient Christians and Moses
Then visit the Catacombs where the Ancient Christians were buried in underground cemeteries.
Italian Dinner, Wine Music Entertainment and the Trevi Fountain (3 coins)
Tour to the fabulous Trevi fountain (to drop the traditional coin or three). Followed by dinner at
one of Rome's restaurants, Drinks and music included
Michelangelo's Agony & Ecstasy. Guided tour of 'Sistine Chapel" and Vatican Museums
